Airport Luggage Theft

Its a bad situation when the airline loses your luggage but to have it stolen right out from under you at the carousel or in the terminal is a real pain not to mention giving the traveler a sense of helplessness.

There are some ways that you can protect yourself from theft and if you travel much as all, there are plans to put into action. If you look at the conveyor belt next time you travel, youll notice that almost every bag on there is pretty nondescript. Theyre usually black. Thats the beginning of a thieves dream. Who will question a person carrying a bag out that looks like all of them - no one. Now if you have bright red luggage, or a strip of orange duct tape wrapped around yours, a thief will think twice as it is so easily recognizable. Its amazing how many bags are taken off the belt by thieves with the rightful owner standing twenty feet away. One would be well advised to not pack anything of huge value. Thats a tough one if youre going off to Europe and have many nice clothes packed. Not much you can do about that, but you can add your jewelry and other valuables to your carry-on luggage. And if you do need to pack some expensive things, consider purchasing travel insurance. The airlines do have compensation but its difficult to get them to pay off and in some circumstances at the airport they wont even be responsible if the luggage was in your possession. Its worth a few bucks to protect yourself. In the terminal, mind your possessions. Yes, that sounds like a mother talking but if youve ever had a laptop snatched from your side as youre standing in line, you start to pay attention from then on. cheap flights fro msouthampton
